Mexico Mission
Peter's Visit:With his own money, Peter made a trip to Mexico to see first-hand the suffering occurring in Mexico. |
Photographic Tour of Mexico and Mexican Missions:
Families live in communities where the homes are attached to each other. Most are made of tin and they are roughly 150 square feet.
Many children and families make their home under the bridges.
There is no indoor running water, electricity or plumbing for these people who live in the slum like conditions. They all share the water that comes in from a hose.
The bridge provides protection from the rains and is close to roads and the city.
Although these conditions in the city are impoverished, they can be viewed as better then the people who live in the mountains.
This family has found a home under this bridge.
Some kids sleep under ground in the sewers and others sleep out in the streets.
Many live under a canopy on the street and find their food in the dumpsters.
Many families live in these tin houses built side-by-side in a long row. These homes are roughly 15' by 15'.
Many of the street kids sleep under these trucks at night next to the market.
Sisters of Holy Trinity
The Sisters of Holy trinity are such inspirational, beautiful people who give their life to doing God's work, helping the poor.
For those children who will not come into the mission to live a more comfortable life, the sisters will go out into the streets and feed them and educate them. These Sisters reflect in all they say and do the love of Jesus.
Sister Vera
Sister Vera works with the street kids, feeding them and helping them with their basic needs.
Sister Vera works on the streets with the young girls who have no place to turn. She offers them a place in her mission.
Sister Vera finds a work book one of her kids left behind under the bridge.
The girls wash their own clothes.
The girls in the mission learn academics as well as a trade so they can survive when they leave.
The girls are very happy with their new life in the mission.
