This dramatic comedy with a romantic plot, traces the life of this great Italian saint - from his years in San Giovanni Rotondo to his death.

Padre Pio suffered greatly with many illnesses, but was also gifted with the stigmata, the ability to prophesize, to perform miracles and to bi-locate.

This inspirational and entertaining musical focuses, in a comedic and dramatic way, on Pio's teaching of suffering. His teachings leave us inspired and hope-filled.

Act One illustrates how Pio, loved by millions of people, was rejected by some in his own Church. Giovanni, Pio's right hand man, falls in love with Frances, an American reporter who has come to write Pio's story. The Act ends with a scene of disillusioned women, who had come to Pio for miracles, but who were unable to receive the sought-after miracles because Pio had been sent to live a life of seclusion by his own Church.

Act Two and Act Three resolve the love story between Giovanni and Frances. Pio is finally recognized by his Church, and becomes loved by millions of people. At the end, his dream of a constructing a special hospital is fulfilled, through the brilliant work of Frances, and by others who loved him.
